Our Home

In May 2008 (after three years of renting) we bought our 'starter home.'  When we moved in to our 3 br, 2 ba home, it was just me and Jeff.  We now have two kids and need more space but were unsucessful in selling so I think we are staying put for a bit.  We have loved our first home and have made it our own.  I guess we just didn't realize just how much space you need with kids!
Here are some of the rooms in our home.

We'll start with my favorite...

Hayden's {big boy} Room
We finally re-decorated Hayden's room and transformed it from a nursery to a big-boy-room!  I love nautical style so that is the 'theme' I chose for his room.  My super handy hubby crafted all the built-ins and wall treatments himself!  He did a fantastic job and I'm so proud of his work!
I hope Hayden enjoys his room, I sure enjoy glancing in there every time I pass by ;)

Hayden's Nursery
My amazingly talented hubby hand-painted the silhouette tree.  I think it was my favorite part of the room.

I have managed to keep it mostly toy and clutter free which was my hope since it is a small space.  However, his toys are taking over the spare room & other areas of the house which is why I have plans for a playroom in the next house!
We added beadboard to the ceiling (and crown moulding.)  I love how it turned out!
Just ignore the ugly light fixture.  It was quite a challenge finding one that was boy-ish but not cheesy looking so this is what I ended up with  :-/

Master Bedroom
I recently redecorated this room but I'm not thrilled with the curtains.  I would like to get something different.  I also wanted to add crown moulding but never got around to it.  I think I have given up on uprgading in this house since I am hoping that we will be moving in the near future.  ;)

This dresser is a Craigslist find that I painted and I added these great glass knobs.  Love!

Ava's Room
When we found out we were having a girl, I wanted to create a beautiful, femenine room for her.  I had so much fun decorating this girly nursery!

My hubby created the paneled wall behind the crib and I love it.  It adds interest and dimension to her room.  The vases above her crib are plastic bottles I attached with wire.

I hung teacup saucers on the wall and we got a great deal on this dollhouse.  I can't wait till she is old enough to play with it! :)
I love just sitting in her room and rocking her.  It's so peaceful and serene.

Dining Room

We recently re-decorated this room and I love the casual feel of it!  My talented hubby built the banquette himself and I love how it turned out!
